Natural Falls

Camp / Day Activities

Where is it?

Natural Falls State Park - 19679 E 578 Rd, Concord, OK - Tent Area

Details

Natural Falls is my favorite camp site. There is plenty to do and see from the water fall to disc golf. I think the best part is the play ground close to the campsite where kids can play while we rest up.

Overnight camping is optional for all nights and some of them will be cold. If you do spend the night, please check your sleeping bag's temperature rating to be sure it is adequate for the weather. If the overnight temperatures are going to be consistently below freezing, overnight camping will be canceled and Natural Falls will become a day activity. Watch for updates.

It will be cold (but not freezing) during the day. It will be a good opportunity to teach our scouts how dressing appropriately can let you have fun even when it's cold outside. That is something they will appreciate when they leave cub scouts and are allowed to "Winter Camp". Will we have a campfire and hot coco to warm up? Absolutely!

"When dressing for cold weather, focus on a layering system including the three Ws: wicking, warmth and wind. Your base layer should be wicking (like an athletic shirt), an insulating layer should be warming (like fleece or wool) and an exterior layer should block the wind." https://scoutingmagazine.org/2015/12/winter-camping-tips/

Deadline for sign-up is for camping and/or day activities is noon Thursday.
